A distinctive travel experience across every screen.

Safari Elite Adventures: a responsive, content-rich travel experience

Interface engineering with Aurelia JS and Slim PHP

Safari Elite Adventures wanted a website that could present detailed travel information while feeling distinctive. The client was particular about what the site needed to communicate. My work focused on translating that content into a clear, memorable interface across desktop and mobile screens.

The product challenge

Travel decisions involve more than an attractive image. Visitors need enough information to understand the offering, and the presentation needs to keep that information readable. The site had to handle substantial content while expressing the client's character through its visual design.

My contribution

I developed the frontend with Aurelia JS and the backend with Slim PHP. The defining interaction was scroll-based animation, used to give the content a sense of progression as visitors moved through the page. I paid particular attention to how the layouts and interactions behaved on mobile in both portrait and landscape orientation.

The client's detailed content requirements shaped the interface. I had to make room for the information they considered essential while preserving a coherent visual journey. At the time, I felt the result was distinctive from a UI and UX perspective, and its responsive behavior remains the part of the project I am proudest of.

Outcome and perspective

The result was a responsive travel website with a strong visual identity and carefully handled content. I do not have current usage or conversion figures to attach to it. Safari Elite Adventures later went out of business during the COVID-19 pandemic, so the site is a historical example rather than a live product reference.

This project demonstrates how I approach product interfaces: listen closely to the client's information needs, give content an intentional structure, and carry the experience through screen sizes and orientations. It also shows a period when I was exploring JavaScript frameworks beyond the mainstream and using animation to serve a specific visual experience.
